COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Kentucky State track and field teams wrapped up the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Championship with 15 top-10 performances, highlighted by a fourth-place finish from the men.
The men finished the championship with 66.50 points, while Morehouse claimed the conference title with 176 points.
With 36 points, the women's team placed seventh. Tuskegee won the women's title with 230 points.
Andrew Bownes became an SIAC champion in the men's discus throw, clearing 154 feet, 10 inches. His teammate
Dewayne Davis took third with a throw of 151 feet, 5 inches.
In the men's 100-meter dash, Jaheim Williams ran a 10.51 to earn the silver medal and later finished sixth in the men's 200 meters with a time of 12.67.
Jadon Wright finished third in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.88. He also placed sixth in the men's 400 meters, running 55.35.
The women's team had a strong showing in the field events, highlighted by a fourth-place finish from
Jaaliyah Biggers, who jumped 18 feet, 1 inch in the long jump. Zhakeyah Hawkins finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing 8 feet, 6.25 inches. A pair of Thorobreds finished in the top 10 in the high jump, led by Alycia Triplett's fifth-place finish with a jump of 5 feet. Zara Rowell followed in 10th, clearing 4 feet, 9 inches.
Brian Golden took fourth in the men's pole vault, clearing 10 feet, 6 inches.
With a jump of 47 feet, 9.25 inches,
Shamond McClain placed fourth in the men's triple jump.
Two Thorobreds finished in the top 10 in the women's 800 meters. Hawkins led the duo with a time of 2:25.10 to place fifth, while
Laila Jackson finished seventh with a time of 2:28.41.
