WILBERFORCE, Ohio — In their final tuneup before the SIAC Outdoor Championships, Kentucky State track and field posted seven individual wins and more than 26 top-10 finishes at the Joshua Culbreath Invitational in Wilberforce, Ohio.
 
Both teams finished second on the team leaderboard. The women's team finished with 87 points, while the men's team tallied 144 points. Host Central State won the men's title with 199 points, and its women's program won with 293 points.
 
Kentucky State earned seven individual titles during the meet. In the track events, Jahiem Williams claimed the first medal in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.83. Laila Jackson followed in the women's 1,500 meters with a 5:15.62. Jadon Wright added another after a 15.25 in the men's 110-meter hurdles. The men's 4x400-meter relay team, composed of Darris Ivy, Gavianni Wright, Jeremiah Preston and Tajay Taylor, ran a 3:20.39 to take first.
 
Success continued into the field events, led by Andrew Bowens, who took first in the men's shot put with a throw of 13.81 meters. His throw of 48.30 meters also earned him first in the men's discus. Dewayne Davis rounded out the success with a javelin throw of 34.91 meters to take the men's title.
