FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State University Athletics partners with Second Street School and Collins Lanes Elementary for day of community service reading books and eating lunch with the students on Wednesday in Frankfort Kentucky.
Student-Athletes from numerous programs participated in the community service that included football, women's volleyball, cross country, softball and women's basketball.
Giving back brings football student-athlete Rodricuse Jackson II joy, "I enjoy giving back, because giving back to the community is a way to upkeep any change that you are trying to make." Jackson said.
At an early age
Mason Molique learned that being community was a passion of his early, "My dad and mom have always showed me to give back to the community at a young age. So it has always been something that I have loved to do." Molique said.
Along with the day of service, Athletics distributed tickets to the students so that they could cheer on the Thorobreds in their home opener on Aug. 31
st against Clark Atlanta.
