Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State University women's volleyball team went back-and-forth with the University of Charleston on Tuesday night before a convincing win in the fifth set gave the Thorobrettes the match victory, 3-2 (24-26, 25-14, 25-20, 25-22, 15-6) at the Exum Center.

After dropping the opening set to the Golden Eagles, 26-24, Kentucky State came roaring back in the second set. The Thorobrettes had a team attack percentage of .321, their highest of the match, on their way to a commanding 25-14 win in the second frame. UC recovered to take the third set, 25-20, before KSU shut the Golden Eagles down in the fourth, 25-22, and fifth, 15-6, sets to take the match.

The Thorobrettes were led offensively by senior
Latosha Scott who had season-high 24 kills. KSU also got offensive production from
Emily Grieshaber (14 kills)
Kirtrice Ploucha (9) and
Ileen Brown (7). Sophomore setter
Anjelique Kyle distributed the ball for Kentucky State finishing with 48 assists. Several KSU student-athletes contributed defensively with four finishing with double digit digs. Junior
Kiara Rivera led the team with 15 digs.

In their next match, Kentucky State hosts the University of the Cumberland's on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. That contest also serves as the Thorobrettes annual "Dig Pink" match.
