Baseball Set to Face #1 Albany State in First Round of SIAC Tournament

FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State University Baseball team will face off against one-seed Albany State in the first round of the 2024 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2.  

SERIES AT A GLANCE 
The Thorobreds (20-27, 14-17 SIAC) will compete against the Golden Rams (34-10, 30-3 SIAC) in a single game matchup, with the winner moving on in the tournament.  

FROM THE STABLE  
Kentucky State is entering the tournament as the #8 seed. The Thorobreds are led by Solomon Reed who leads the SIAC in strikeouts per nine innings with 9.11. The team also features Collier Higgs who has 10 homeruns on the season, ranking second in the conference.  

A LOOK AT THE GOLDEN RAMS  
The Golden Lions come into the tournament with a strong record. With 31 double plays and 424 runs on the season, both numbers which lead the conference, the team has shown their efficiency on both sides of the ball.
