FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State baseball team, coming off a series sweep at LeMoyne-Owen, will host the Lane Dragons on April 6-7 at Western Hills Baseball Field in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Series
Kentucky State holds 31 wins over Lane with only five losses. In the most recent series (4/2023), the Thorobreds clutched a 6-4 win but also fell to Lane in the last game 4-12.

This season Lane (12-9) in league play holds the sixth spot in the SIAC Conference. Their overall record being 13-18 on the season.
From the Stable
So far this season the Thorobreds have clinched 9 conference wins in the competitive SIAC division. With this upcoming series and nine more conference games to go the Thorobreds have plenty of opportunity to end the season with a winning record.
During their last series at Le-Moyne Owen they picked up a three-game sweep with game one being 5-4, game two being 15-4, and game three being 9-1.
Playing in 31 games this season Kelton Saylor has led the team with a .419 batting average and has earned 49 hits. Alongside Saylor, Collier Higgs has averaged .304 batting average, with 34 hits getting the team nine home runs.
On the mound Eric Turner has dominated with 3 wins and 31 strikeouts through 42.2 innings pitched. Daccarius Chapman has earned 3 wins, with 27 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched this season.
