Baseball Team Set to Face Edward Waters in Season's Home Opener This Weekend

FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State University baseball team will play their first home game of the season this weekend as they face Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent Edward Waters University. 

The games will take place at the Western Hills Baseball Field in Frankfort, Ky. with a doubleheader on Saturday (March 2) beginning at 12:00 p.m. and a single game matchup will follow on Sunday (March 3) at 12:00 p.m. 

The Thorobreds (7-6, 3-3 SIAC) will look to add to their win streak after their 3-0 sweep over SIAC opponent Clark Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Tigers (7-9, 2-4 SIAC) will look to get back in the win column following a 7-12 loss to the University of South Carolina Beaufort.   

At the start of the game, the Mayor of Frankfort and former Kentucky State student-athlete Layne Wilkerson will throw the first pitch, kicking off the home season for the Thorobreds.
