JACKSON, Tenn. — The Kentucky State baseball team is set to face off against the Lane College Dragons in a doubleheader on April 8, with the first game scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
The Thorobreds are coming off a tough 10-73 loss to the Cedarville Yellow Jackets in their last game. The team's offense has been led by junior
Joseph Esparza, who boasts a .439 batting average, 35 runs batted in (RBIs), and 14 home runs on the season.
On the defensive side, junior pitcher
Eric Turner has done well for the Thorobreds with three wins and a 4.59 earned run average (ERA) in 49 innings pitched.
Lane College's offense has been led by Dakotah Danner, who has a .278 batting average and 25 hits on the season. The Dragons' pitching staff has also been strong, with pitcher Julian Ortiz earning three wins and a 3.94 ERA in 48 innings pitched.
The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 PM CT at the Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.
