FRANKFORT, Ky. – Head coach Robert Henry and the Kentucky State baseball program have released their 2023 season schedule set to begin on Feb 4 at Voorhees in Denmark, South Carolina.
The 2023 schedule will consist of 48 games and 16 home games at Alumni Field.
Kentucky State will open its 2023 schedule on the road at Vorhees University for a three-game series beginning on Feb 4. Head coach Henry said, "We're excited about starting up a new season with a lot of brand new faces in the lineup and on the pitching staff. Coach O'Neal does a great job with his team, and we're looking forward to a great matchup with Voorhees this weekend."
They will follow with another non-conference road trip at Montevallo for three games beginning on Feb 11.
Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play will begin on Feb 18 at Morehouse in Atlanta.
The Thorobreds will open their home schedule will open to nearby opponent Asbury on Feb 21 at Alumni Field.
Kentucky State will travel to SIAC opponent Edward Waters on Feb 24 and return to Kentucky at Asbury on Feb 28.
After Asbury, the Thorobreds will host league opponents Savannah State on Mar. 4-5 and Miles on Mar. 11-12.
The Thorobreds will be on the road for their next four opponents beginning with Miami Hamilton on Mar 14 and followed by Tuskegee (Mar. 18-19), Spring Hill (March 25-26), and end at Thomas More on Mar 28. They will return home to host LeMoyne-Owen on Apr. 1-2
After a short home series to LeMoyne-Owen on Apr. 1-2, they will travel to Cedarville on Apr 4 and close their road play to Lane from Apr. 7-8.
Kentucky State will host Oakland City on Apr 11 and head to the Reds Urban Youth Academy on Apr 12 as they will play Wilberforce.
On Apr. 14-15, the Thorobreds will host Clark Atlanta and follow with a road trip to Lincoln Memorial on Apr 18. Kentucky State will then travel to Albany State on Apr. 22-23.
The 2023 season will end at home, beginning with Oakland City on Apr 12 and Benedict on Apr. 28-29.
