DANVILLE, KY – The Kentucky State University men's and women's track and field teams saw success at the Centre Invitational inside Farris Stadium in Danville, Kentucky.
The day was led by
Amani Wagner, who finished first in the women's discus with a throw of 128 feet and 6 inches. She also finished third in the women's shot put with a distance of 40 feet and 11.5 inches.
Jaylynne Williams ran a 16.82 in the women's 100 meter hurdles and secured first place.
The success in the field events for the Thorobreds with
Nigel Cochran finishing third in the men's triple jump clearing a distance of 44 feet and 3.25 inches.
Epiphany Smith ran a 13.15 in the women's 100-meter dash that earned her third.
Joshua Tolson secured a fifth-place finish in the men's 100-meter dash finishing the event with an 11.29.
A pair of Thorobreds earned top-ten finishes in the men's 200-meter run, with
Joshua Tolson earning an eighth-place finish with a time of 23.46, his teammate Cochran finished ninth and ran a time of 23.74.
The men's and women's teams will return to action Saturday, April 10th, for the Centre Twilight meet at Farris Stadium in Danville, Kentucky.
