FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State baseball team heads to Salem, West Virginia, for a four-game series against Salem University. The season will open Saturday, February 27, with the first pitch set for 1 p.m.
The Thorobreds finished the 2019 season with a historic winning season, with what appeared to be another winning season in 2020 that was later cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
This year's success will rely on the team as someone of experience will fill every position.
Last Meeting
Kentucky State met the Tigers for a weekend (Feb. 22-23) series at Alumni Field. The Thorobreds secured the largest margin of victory since 2018 by winning the second matchup in the doubleheader 13-4. The Thorobreds closed out the home series 2-1.
Tigers at Glance
The Tigers have yet to begin their 2021 season, with multiple contests being postponed or canceled. The 2020 season was rocky for the Salem Tigers, with an 8-10 season put to a standstill by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
