Lucas Schank (Shepherdsville, Ky.) threw nine pitches, eight strikes, in the ninth inning as he secured his first collegiate victory with two scoreless innings of relief. He allowed one hit with three strikeouts in his two-inning outing.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Junior Adren Thompson (Lexington, Ky.) drilled his first homer of the season and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. It was the only extra base hit for the Thorobreds.
- Lawson collected another multi-hit game with his 2-for-4 performance with two RBI and a run scored.
- Senior Kevin Givhan (Chicago, Ill.), senior Chance Egnor (Shepherdsville, Ky.) and Kumar all had RBI in the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Brady Bibbs (Hornersville, Mo.) finished with six strikeouts in his five innings. Half of the four hits he surrendered were of the extra-base variety.
- Givhan recorded a stolen base for the second straight game.
- Seven of the nine batters recorded a hit and scored a run.
