Box Score DENMARK, S.C. – The Kentucky State University baseball team completed the non-conference three-game series sweep over Vorhees with a 5-3 win in a rain-shortened game.
Kentucky State scored one run in the third inning and a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Voorhees scored a pair of runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, and had the tying run at the plate before junior
Dom Lawson (Bloomfield, Ky.) induced a ground ball to end the Voorhees rally. Lawson, 1-0, allowed three earned runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven with four walks.

Collier Higgs (Owensboro, Ky.) had the first multi-hit game of his career, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk. Sophomore
Josh Graves (Springfield, Ky.) recorded his second multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Jace Wilson (Shepherdsville, Ky.) tallied two RBI by virtue of a two-out double in the fifth inning.

Kentucky State (5-2 overall), winners of four straight, travels to Richmond, Ky. 3 p.m. Tuesday to face Division I Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels are 3-0 following a three-game sweep of Presbyterian.
