Kentucky State talled three runs in the second to take the lead, but Morehouse came back with an equalizing run in the third inning. Then, the offensive derby was out the gates.
It began with a five-run fourth, continued with a four-run fifth and crossed the finish line with a three-run sixth.

Reed didn't allow a single earned run over 6 2/3 innings, striking out a career-high 10 with just five hits and two walks. Two of the five knocks were bunt singles, and none of the hits were of the extra base variety.
Sims gave Kentucky State the lead with a two-run double in the third inning, and came around to score on a throwing error and the Thorobreds led 3-0. After junior Bryan Mason (Chattanooga, TN) scored on another error in the fifth inning, sophomore
Adren Thompson (Lexington, KY) brought home a pair of runs with a two-out single.
Morehouse scored a pair of unearned runs thanks to a two-out error in the sixth inning, and brought the tying run to the plate with two outs in the seventh. However, Ringgold slammed the door on any potential threat with a strikeout for his second save of the season.
