Memphis, Tenn.—Kentucky State University baseball completed its first season sweep with a 15-7 win on the road over LeMoyne-Owen College on Sunday.

The Thorobreds (12-23, 6-3) have won six of their last seven against SIAC opponents, dating back to Mar. 19 when they took the season finale against on the road at Paine College.

"The offense did an excellent job jumping out on top early, giving Josh Owsley some room to work with in the middle innings," said head coach
Rob Henry. "Our defense was strong again today, and when our offense gets going like it was today, we can put up runs in a hurry."

Junior center fielder set the pace for the Thorobreds, collecting three hits, two doubles, and scoring four runs in the process.

Justin Stinson extended his season-long hit streak to seven games as he collected two hits on the day. During his streak, Stinson has accumulated three multi-hit games for the Thorobreds.

The top run producers for KSU stepped up once again as senior third baseman
Brandon Story and sophomore right fielder
Jay Poullard each added two RBIs. Story currently leads the Thorobreds with 34 RBIs and has accounted for a RBI in nine consecutive games.

Joshua Owsley (3-3) notched his third victory of the season as he accounted for six innings of work, leaving with the lead. Freshman
Connor Kelley followed up with three scoreless innings, holding the Magicians in check for his first career save.

KSU will look to ride the momentum into the following week for a home doubleheader against Selma University on Apr 4 against Selma University, and a weekend series on the road at Miles College spanning Apr. 8 and 9.
