Memphis, Tenn.—Kentucky State University baseball took both games of a road doubleheader from hosting LeMoyne-Owen College, 3-2, and 5-3, on Saturday afternoon.
"Our pitching and defense led the way for us today," said head coach
Rob Henry. "
Josh Dunn gave us his usual great outing and
Joe Crisp competed his heart out in game two. Our defense was excellent again and that combination allowed our offense enough time to figure out two quality starting pitchers from LeMoyne-Owen."
The victories secure for the Thorobreds (11-23, 5-3) their second consecutive series win against SIAC opponents, the first coming a week ago at home against Tuskegee University.
"We're excited about the wins," said Henry. "But now it's time to put that behind us and prepare to play hard again tomorrow."
Next up, KSU will look for the series sweep against the Magicians on Sunday as sophomore pitcher
Joshua Owsley will take the mound for a 1 pm ET first pitch.
