Box Score 2 Harrogate, Tenn.—Kentucky State University baseball failed to pick up a win against host Lincoln Memorial University in doubleheader action on Tuesday night at Lamar Hennon Field.

The Thorobreds (3-10) will move on to Charleston, West Virginia for a three-game series over the weekend against the University of Charleston spanning from Saturday into Sunday.

The Thorobreds came out of the gate with a 2-0 lead on the Railsplitters as senior third baseman
Brandon Story drove in junior centerfielder
Elijah Collins, followed by a RBI single to right field by sophomore right fielder
Jay Poullard, knocking in sophomore first baseman
Artie Santomo.

Poullard's name was called again in the third inning as he scorched a line drive down the right-field line for a RBI single, scoring Santomo for a second time, giving KSU the 3-0 advantage.

LMU answered in the bottom of the fourth with a run, bringing the score to a 3-1 KSU lead. Junior designated hitter
Greg Alexander put KSU back on top by three with a towering solo home run over the left field wall, for his second-long ball of the season, in the top of the fifth.

The Railsplitters played comeback with two runs in the fifth inning, followed by two runs in the seventh for a walk-off victory. The walk-off loss marks the second of the season against KSU.

Collins and Poullard each finished the game going 2-for-3 to lead the way for the visiting squad, as junior pitcher Char Butler threw five innings of work, allowing three earned runs while striking out three. Freshman pitcher
Matthew Oxford was saddled with his second loss of the season.

Senior pitcher Eric Anderson struggled in the early going allowing eight earned runs in an inning and two-thirds of work for the Thorobreds.

Trailing 14-0 in the latter half of the game, KSU mounted two runs off a RBI sacrifice fly by sophomore right fielder
Cameron Starks, and a walk to drive in a run by senior designated hitter
Rob Johnson.

Story finished the game as the lone Thorobred with multiple hits, as he went 2-for-3.
