Brieona Warner has been named SIAC Player of the Week while KSU senior center
Shaquanda Wiggins earns Newcomer of the Week honors.
The Thorobrettes (16-4, 11-2 SIAC) won both of their games this past week to push their current winning streak to eight games.
Warner, a member of the preseason All-SIAC team, was instrumental to Kentucky State's success on both ends of the floor this week. In two games Warner averaged 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 blocks, four assists, and a pair of steals per game.
Wiggins, who has eight double-double's this season, averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game for the Thorobrettes this week.
Kentucky State, which currently sits atop the SIAC West Division standings, hosts LeMoyne-Owen this Thursday, Feb. 12, at 5:30 p.m. The game serves as the annual
#wearRED game which aims to raise awareness about the dangers of heart disease in women as well as a way to celebrate girls and women in sports. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to the games!
