FRANKFORT, Ky. — Despite a career-high 30 points and dominant double-double from Amina Seck, Kentucky State women's basketball fell 80-69 to Lane.
 
Seck continued her dominance on the floor, leading the contest with a career-high 30 points after finishing the first half a perfect 7-of-7 from the field. She also added another double-double on the season with 11 rebounds and led the game with four blocks.
 
Aaliyah Hayes scored 23 points, shooting 75% (6-of-8) from the free-throw line and making seven shots from the field.
 
Lane had five Dragons score in double figures, led by 13 points from Lauren Lain and supported by 23 bench points.
 
The opening quarter was a battle as the game tied four times. The first tie came on a made free throw from Seck (3-3) at the 8:33 mark, followed by a floater from Alycia Triplett (5-5) at 7:21. Lane took the third tie on a fast break (7-7) at 6:03, and Alexis Hayes forced the final tie of the quarter on a Dragons turnover (9-9) with 4:34 remaining.
 
In the final minutes of the first, Lane went on a 6-point run to take a 19-12 lead at the end of the quarter.
 
Kentucky State began the second quarter strong, going on a 7-point run capped by a Seck layup that tied the game 19-19 with 7:58 remaining in the half.
 
The battle continued for both teams as the game tied three additional times before the Thorobreds managed to outscore the Dragons 24-22. However, Lane maintained a 41-36 lead going into halftime.
 
Lane held its edge in the third quarter, scoring 11 points off 11 Kentucky State turnovers to take a 57-50 lead into the final frame.
 
Kentucky State found an 8-point run late in the fourth, but ultimately fell 80-69 to Lane.
