KSU's Tabb and Everett Honored as Baseball West Division Player and Pitcher of the Week

| Box Score 3 ATLANTA (March 13, 2012)- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the Week 4 Baseball Honors yesterday. Kentucky State's Arefes Everett has been named the West Division Pitcher of the Week, while Ben Tabb has been named the West Division Player of the Week.

Everett, a native of Chicago, IL, pitched eight innings, including a complete game in a 5-2 win over Tuskegee, with five strikeouts and no walks. The 6-foot-2 freshman, who finished with a 1-0 record this week, gave up just one earned run to finish the week with a 1.12 ERA.

Tabb, also a Chicago, IL native, recorded four hits, including a homerun, in 10 at-bats, finishing with a .400 batting average and a .700 slugging percentage in four games. The 5-foot-8 freshman also drove in four runs and scored three more while also finishing with one stolen base on two attempts. Tabb had a .500 on-base percentage and a .800 fielding percentage while helping lead the Thorobreds to a win over conference-foe Tuskegee.

Joining Everett and Tabb this week are Benedict College first baseman, David Weber, and pitcher, Lamar Lewis, who were named SIAC Baseball East Division Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

The SIAC Baseball Players of the Week is a weekly honor and is announced each Tuesday during the baseball season.
