KSU Baseball Suffers Loss On The Road Against Lincoln-Memorial

Harrogate, TN - The KSU Men's baseball program traveled to Harrogate, TN to take on Lincoln Memorial in a double header.

The 1st and 2nd innings of the game began with 0 runs for KSU. Lincoln Memorial followed suit also by being scoreless in the 1st and 2nd innings. After KSU failed to gain any runs in the 3rd inning, Lincoln Memorial produced to runs from Horsley and Baker. Lincoln Memorial's 2nd baseman J. Alvarez also scored on an unearned run putting the Railsplitters ahead 3-0. KSU could not produce a run in the 3rd and 4th inning also while closing out the 4th with 0 hits. Lincoln Memorial managed to run out 4 more runs in the 5th inning and 2 runs in the 6th inning. The Railsplitters were successful at keeping KSU scoreless the whole game and allowing only 3 hits.

The 2nd round of KSU's double header KSU was held hitless while Lincoln Memorial advanced to 6-0 with 6 runs in the 1st inning. KSU's Michael Swayne got a hit off that doubled to center field but then was caught out on 2nd base. Vasquez and Russell were grounded out in the 2nd inning. Lincoln Memorial successfully earned a run in the 2nd inning and put the score at 7-0. A run by Catcher Andy Fisher in the 3rd inning gave KSU their first point of the game. Lincoln Memorial produced another run in the 3rd inning from A. Lewis. Unfortunately the Thorobreds were held scoreless in the 4th and 5th innings while the Railsplitters produced 10 hits and 9 runs between the 4th and 5th innings. KSU finished the 6th inning with 3 strikeouts. Lincoln Memorial's J. Horsley earned a run late in the 6th inning followed by a Micheal Swayne run for KSU in the 7th inning. KSU ended the game 2-18.
