LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky State Track and Field sets school record with 11 medals at the 2025 SIAC Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The women's team scored 46 points to take fourth place as a team and the men's team finished seventh with 42.4 points.
A pair of Thorobreds reached the podium in the 60-meter dash, MyRajah Rankin finished third in the women's division with an exciting photo finish and time of 7.72.
Yumana Lofton ran a final time of 6.87 to take third place in the men's division.
In the women's 200-meter dash Rankin ran a NCAA DII top 100 time of 24.96 to take second place.
Lofton added his second medal of the championship with a third-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash with a 21.96.
In the women's pole vault Ariana Simmons cleared a height of 6 feet 11.75 inches to take the silver medal.
Kentucky State had two Thorobreds reach the podium in the men's triple jump, led by a NCAA DII top 67 jump of 46 feet 10 inches from
Nigel Cochran.
Bryson Carpenter took third with a personal best of 45 feet and 9.25 inches.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team that included
Zhakeya Hawkins, Iyanna Thompson-Carson,
Hailey Tucker and Rankin took third with a season best time of 3:59.83.
A season best time of 3:22.47 from
Joshua Merriweather,
Ernest Chambers, Tyran Forte and
Justin Smith earned a fifth-place finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay.
Hawkins ran a personal best of 1:00.57 in the women's 400-meter dash finals to finish seventh.
Curtis Bownes and Carpenter added points in the men's high jump finishing sixth clearing a height of 6 feet .75 inches.
Cochran added an additional two points clearing a height of 10 feet six inches to finish seventh in the men's pole vault.
A personal best of 44 feet 2.75 inches from
Andrew Bownes in the men's shot earned an eighth place finish.
Desire' Poole added five points in the women's shot put with 37 feet 3.25 inches to finish fourth. She also added an additional two points in the women's weight throw with seven place finish after a throw of 38 feet 9 inches.
