STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Junior
Robert Johnson win's first as an individual and Junior Maximiliano Dufey finishes third to thrust Kentucky State men's golf two a second-place team finish at the 39th Annual Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Golf Classic at the Stone Mountain Golf Course in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
After opening the first round with an even-par 70, Johnson was able to stay atop of the leaderboard with a one-over 71 in the second round that earned him a first-place finish.
In the opening round Dufey shot a five-over-par 75 and improved by seven shots in the final round with a one-under par 69 to finish in third place.
Senior
Micah Stangebye finished just outside of the top ten with a 76 is final round improving from a first round 77.
Junior Demar Jones shot a 76 in the first round and a 79 in second round to finish tied for thirteenth.
Junior
Jean-Marc Chevrotiere opened the tournament with an 81 and improved by two shots in the second round with an 81 to round out the Thororbeds.
The Thorobreds will continue action on Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st at the University of Pikeville Invitational in Prestonburg, Ky.
