LEXINGTON, Ky.  —  Robert Johnson led Kentucky State's men's golf team with a tie for third place individually as the Thorobreds finished 12th at the Saginaw Valley State University Men's Invitational, the opening tournament of the 2026 fall schedule, at Kearney Hills Golf Links.
 
Johnson tied for sixth on the statistical leaderboard with an average score of 4.58 on par-5 holes, finishing the tournament 5-under on those holes. He also tied for fifth with 10 birdies, two behind the tournament high of 12. He opened with a 2-over-par 74, followed by his lowest round of the tournament, a 2-under-par 70, and closed with a 1-over-par 73 for a three-round total of 217.
 
Behind Johnson, Brady Hensley finished with a three-round total of 234. He shot a 78 in the first round, improved with a 73 in the second and posted an 83 in the final round.
 
Garrison Barton and Jean-Marc Chevrotiere each finished with 237 strokes. Chevrotiere's best round came in the opening round with a 77, while Barton posted his best round in the second round with a 73.
 
Andrew Kendrick finished with a tournament total of 258.
 
UP NEXT
Men's golf will remain in Kentucky as they head to Richmond for the Findlay Spring Invite on March 23-24.
