Box Score ATLANTA – Jeana Weatherspoon notched a double-double in Kentucky State's 62-52 loss to Clark Atlanta on Monday evening.

Weatherspoon led Kentucky State with 14 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 6-of-10 from the field to record her first double-double of the season.

Kentucky State led with 23 made shots from the field, while Clark Atlanta capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 19 of 35 attempts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With a pair of ties in the opening minutes, Kentucky State was able to take a 7-3 lead over Clark Atlanta at 8:01 of the first quarter on a 7-0 run led by four points from Jeana Weatherspoon.

Kentucky State went cold early and late in the second quarter, allowing Clark to capitalize with a 10-2 run. Corriana Evans tied the game at 20-20 with two free throws at the 5:54 mark, and a three-pointer in the final seconds (:33) put Clark ahead 25-22 at halftime.

Diana McBroom completed a three-point play to give the Thorobreds a 36-35 lead with 4:00 remaining in the third quarter. The advantage was short-lived, as the
Panthers responded with a layup and capitalized on a Kentucky State turnover to take a 39-36 lead with 2:05 left in the quarter.

Clark closed the third quarter on an 11-2 run, capped by Trinity Jones' three-point play, to take a 46-38 lead heading into the fourth.

In the fourth quarter the Panthers maintained their lead to defeat the Thorobreds 62-52.

UP NEXT
The Thorobreds will return from the holiday break to open the new year on the road against Allen on Jan. 2, 2025.
