MACON, Ga. — The Kentucky State University men's cross country team secured a 10th-place finish at the 2024 SIAC Men's Cross Country Championship, held on Wednesday, October 23, in Macon, Georgia.
The Thorobreds posted a total team score of 249, led by
Justin Smith, who finished 37th overall with a time of 31:43.05.
Joshua Merriweather followed, crossing the line in 45th place at 32:47.17. Nigel Cochran finished 50th with a time of 33:12.97, while
Gedeon Kaponga and
Demarreon Green rounded out the team's top five in 56th (33:49.11) and 61st (34:14.63) places, respectively.
Morehouse College claimed the team title with a score of 38 points, followed by Central State (88 points) and Tuskegee (90 points).
Kentucky State will look to build on their performance as they prepare for the upcoming indoor track season.
