BEREA, Ky. – Roderic Walls leads Kentucky State Cross Country in their season opener at the Mike and Mary Kay Johnson Classic hosted by Berea College.
Walls led the Thorobreds with a 6:23.8 mile and an 8k time of 31.48.3.
Kentucky State women finished the 5k in fourth, and the men finished the 8k in fifth.
Esperance Nibitanga had the women's best finish, with a total time of 25:43.7.
The remaining members of the women's team finished in order, Jaylynne Williams, Jaysha Bell, Rhiona Marshal, and
Kyla Overstreet.
The men finished their race in the following order, Damien Ross, Hakeem Green, Malachai Yancy, and
Kaleb Cunningham.
Both teams will compete in the Thorobred Run held at the Archives in Frankfort, Kentucky, on Friday, September 23.
