LEXINGTON, Ky. – Micah Stangebye, a junior in Kentucky State University's men's golf team, secured a sixth-place finish at the Clark's Pump-N-Shop 109th Kentucky State Amateur Championship held at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky.
 
Stangebye exhibited strong performance, posting scores of 69 (-2) in both the first and second rounds, placing him at four-under-par entering the final round and within a few shots of the lead. Despite recording four birdies in the final round, Stangebye faced some challenges with a few bogeys, resulting in a final round score of 73.
 
Throughout the tournament, Stangebye's cumulative scores were 69-69-72, totaling 210 (-3), securing his sixth-place finish. Notably, Stangebye surpassed several opponents from NCAA Division I institutions. Eastern Kentucky University's head golf coach, Justin Tereshko, emerged as the tournament champion with a score of 204 (-9), showcasing rounds of 70-66-68.
