LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky State men's golf moves up five spots in the final round to finish tied for eighth as a team in the Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational on the Kearney Hills Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky.
Davenport won the tournament as a team with a two round score of 583 (+7), and Alex Bishop of Perdue-Northwest won the tournament as an individual with a two under 142 for both rounds.
As a team, the Thorobreds opened the tournament with 308 in the first round and improved by 13 strokes in the final round with a 298.
Max Dufey opened the first round with a 76, and he shot a two under par 70 in the final round to lead the Thorobreds and finish tied for ninth.
Micah Stangebye had the first round low for Kentucky State with a 74 and finished the final round with a one over 73 to finish tied for 16th.
Jean-Marc Chevrotiere and
Robert Johnson shot identical first and second rounds (79) and second round (76) scores.
Ryan Khounlavong rounded out the Thorobreds with a first round 79 and a final round 80.
