LOUISVILLE – Kentucky State track and field completes the Commonwealth College Opener 2022 at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky. 
 
Kimberly Lugg finished fifth in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.42 meters (40'9"). Three other Thorobreds competed in the event, Dominique Jenkins with 10.36m(30'), Jamiyah Donald with 10.11m(33'2") rounded out by Kayla Groves with 9.33m(33'2"). 
 
Esperance Nibitanga finished third in the women's 1000 meter completing the race with a time of 3:37:51. For the men, Roderic Walls finished ninth with a time of 2:53.58.
 
In the women's 600 meter run Hannah Burton finished seventh with a time of 1:59.91.
 
Joshua Merriweather finished seventh in the men's 600 meter run with a time of 1:28.21. 
 
In the men's 4x400 meter relay, the Thororbeds finished ninth with a time of 3:32.27. The women's finished their relay with a time of 4:24.89.
