Thorobreds Fall to Albany State

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Thorobreds dropped their league contest 59-63 to Albany State, Monday evening inside the Exum Center.  
 
How It Happened
Hannah Henderson would score the first points of the contest with a three-pointer giving the Thorobreds a 3-0 (9:26) lead in the first quarter. Kennedy Horton would lead the Rams with nine points to outscore Kentucky State 21-16 at the end of the first quarter. 

Kentucky State would match Albany State 14-14 in the second quarter. Henderson would lead her team with seven points in the quarter, and her teammate Andrea Wallace would score five to stay neck and neck with the Rams. 

Henderson would shoot 100% from the field (five-of-five), three-point (one-of-one), and the charity stripe (one-of-one) to lead both teams with 12 points going into the half. Albany State would lead the contest 35-30 at halftime.  

In a rocky third quarter for both teams, the Rams would push past the Thorobreds 9-13 and lead the contest 48-39. 

Hilani Cantone would lead both teams in the fourth quarter with ten points shooting one-of-one from long range and one-of-one from the charity stripe. Henderson secured five points going one-of-one from the three-point line and two-of-two to end the fourth quarter with a 20-15 lead. Albany State would pull of a narrow margin 63-59 victory.

Henderson led Kentucky State with 17 points going six-of-ten from the field, two-of-two from long range, and three-of-three from the free-throw line. She would go on to tally six rebounds and one steal. Wallace would lead Kentucky State with nine rebounds while scoring 13 points. Cantone would have a notable performance of 12 points, five assists, four rebounds, one assist and one block.
