Esperance Nibitanga established a new personal record while winning the Mount St. Joseph Run with the Lions at Blue River Memorial Park.
Nibitanga (Louisville, Ky.) shaved nearly 30 seconds off her previous mark, completing the 5K course in 22:18.62. Freshman
Timmia Crayton-Prioleau (Cleveland, Ohio) finished fifth overall with the time 25:34.92.
Two more Kentucky State runners brought home top 10 finishes as junior Gernee Lockhart placed eighth in completing the course in 28:14.99 and freshman
Hidejuah Kennedy (Columbia, S.C.) was ninth with a time of 28:21.47.
The last Thorobreds runner to score for Kentucky State was freshman
Ketisa Akambasi (Buffalo, N.Y.), who placed 15th with a time of 29:33.62.
Kentucky State returns to the course Saturday at the Greater Louisville Classic.
