Three T&F athletes honored by SIAC

ATLANTA, GA – Three Kentucky State University track and field athletes have been honored by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for their athletic exploits this past week, the league announced today (March 19, 2019).

The women's track and field team swept the SIAC weekly honors as senior Brianna Patterson (Houston, TX) earned Track Performer of the Week and senior Chelsey Ford (Versailles, KY) earned Field Performer of the Week.
On the men's side, senior David Jelks (Conyers, GA) picked up Field Performer of the Week honors.

"The student athletes that earned athlete of the week all display the meaning of being a student athlete," said Kentucky State University head coach Fatimah Shabazz. "All three athletes are representing KSU, not only as track and field athletes, but academically as well. All three athletes our balancing their senior year internships with class, part- time jobs, practice and other student body duties. I am very proud of this group believing in themselves first and entrusting the coaching staff with their continuous development."
