DiShondra Goree continues to build depth and experience for the Thorobreds volleyball team, signing three more players. The three additions – Oyuky Benitez, Riley Lemons and Keyeria Tyeskie– bring the 2019 signing class to 11 members.
Oyuky Benitez | 5-4 | Libero

NOTES: Junior College transfer … two season of eligibility remaining … Finished with 242 digs … 23 service aces.
COACHES COMMENTS: Oyuky is a very disciplined player, she will push her teammates to do better and be better! Her level of focus and competitiveness is hard to find, she is not afraid to go above and beyond to get the job done. She will be first in the gym and the last one to leave so she can improve herself and her team. She has a high volleyball IQ and is very court aware. Oyuky passes the ball really well and has a strong defensive mindset that will make more opportunities for our offense to score. I am so happy that Oyuky is a Thorobred, I expect great things from her!!
Riley Lemons | 5-8 | Setter
Philo, CA | Anderson Valley | Butte College

All-Empire selection … four-year varsity letter winner in volleyball, basketball and softball … 10 times all-league selection.
COACHES COMMENTS: I am excited that Riley has decided to join the Thorobred family for next season. I wanted to add more depth and experience to the setter position for next season, and Riley is a great addition to our program! She is a hard worker with a great attitude and will be a vocal team leader for us. Riley will take command of our offense since she has had a successful experience running a 5-1 on the collegiate level. Riley will bring her winning mentality, coachable attitude, and a competitive spirit to what has already been established here at KSU! I am excited to have her aboard!
Keyeria Tyeskie | 5-11 | MB
Desoto, TX | Red Oak | Iowa Lakes CC

COACHES COMMENTS: Keyeria will be an awesome addition to our volleyball program for next season. She is a very physical player that has a quick and powerful arm swing as well as a very solid block. She will have a huge presence in our middle both as an offensive threat and defensively as a prominent blocker. Keyeria has MB experience on the college level and she will bring a high level of maturity and discipline to the team. She wants to win and will work really hard to make the overall team better. I am very excited about her becoming a KSU Thorobred!!
