Fourteen Kentucky State University student-athletes achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the 2018 fall semester as the department posted a GPA of 2.74.
More than 100 KSU student-athletes finished the fall semester with at least a 3.0 GPA.
The softball program, which posted a GPA of 3.20, led the way with four student-athletes –
Paola Flores,
Olivia Saylor, Olivia Stewart and
Jackie Zubiate – all achieving the academic feat. The other student-athletes with a fall GPA of 4.0 are
Dennis Bryant (football), John Etheridge (baseball), Chelsey Marie Ford (track & field),
Jessie Kee (women's basketball),
Jacob Kelly (baseball),
Alaria Long (cross country/track & field),
Tyler Simmons (cheerleading),
Ania Smith (cheerleading),
Brooke Wallace (women's basketball) and
Amani Williams (women's basketball).
Boosted by 12 of the 13 members achieving at least a 3.0 GPA, the women's basketball team recorded the department's highest grade point average of 3.496. The men's golf team recorded a 3.036 GPA for the highest male team GPA. Three other teams – softball, women's cross country and women's track & field – posted team GPA's of at least 3.0.
