GAME PREVIEW: Clark Atlanta University

The Kentucky State women's basketball team returns to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action 3 p.m. Monday for the first time in two weeks to host Clark Atlanta in the William Exum Center.

GAME NOTES | LIVE STATS

THE TEAMS: Kentucky State (6-5 overall, 1-2 SIAC)) has won three straight games for the second time this season. The Thorobreds opened the season with three consecutive victories, lost five straight and has now come up victorious in three straight.

Clark Atlanta (1-9 overall, 0-2 SIAC) is coming off an 88-57 loss to Central State University Saturday. The Panthers opened the season with eight straight losses. CAU lost nine games total last season in winning the East Division and claiming the SIAC Tournament. The Panthers are 11th in scoring margin, getting outscored by 18.6 points per game and is last in the SIAC in scoring with 54.2 points per game.
 
THE COACHES: Terrance Slater is in his third season as the head coach, and fifth season with the program. The Thorobreds are 26-38 in his tenure as a head coach. He led Kentucky State to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals a season ago. He was an assistant the last time KSU advanced to the SIAC title game.

Two-time WNBA Champion Yolanda Moore is in her second season at the helm of Clark Atlanta. Moore had a standout career at the University of Mississippi before playing professionally. She has been a head coach on both the junior college and NCAA Division I levels.

THE PLAYERS: Senior Brooke Wallace is one of four players in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference averaging a double-double, leading the Thorobreds with 12.5 points and 10.2 rebounds. She is eighth in the SIAC in scoring and second in rebounds.

Junior Jessie Kee is second on the team in scoring with 9.5 points, and is scoring 11.5 points per game since moving into the starting lineup. Sophomore Erica Jones is third on the team with 6.7 rebounds to go along with 9.0 points, while junior Kiante Butts is second on the team with 6.6 boards. Junior Amani Williams are distributing a team-high 39 assists.

Junior guard Reyana Miller is the only Clark Atlanta player averaging double figures with 12.2 points per game. She has scored at least 20 points in three games, including a season-high 23 against Tuskegee.
