The Kentucky State women's basketball team plays the fourth game of their five-game road trip with a 2 p.m. EST Saturday meeting with Lane College.
THE TEAMS: Kentucky State (3-4) has dropped four straight games since opening the season with three victories. The Thorobreds are coming off a 72-69 SIAC loss to Albany State Monday. KSU is 0-3 away from the Willam Exum Center this season.
Lane (3-5) is coming off a 64-45 victory over Central State Thursday, and it sports an exhibition victory over Division I Alcorn State University. Redshirt sophomore Porchia Hannah, a Grambling State transfer, scored 14 points with 20 rebounds in the victory over Central State.
THE COACHES:
Terrance Slater is in his third season as the head coach, and fifth season with the program. The Thorobreds are 23-37 in his tenure as a head coach. He led Kentucky State to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals a season ago. He was an assistant the last time KSU advanced to the SIAC title game.
Kimberly Anderson is in her third season as the head coach.
THE PLAYERS: Senior
Brooke Wallace is one of three players in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference averaging a double-double, leading the Thorobreds with 13.4 points and 11.7 rebounds. She 10th in the SIAC in scoring and second in rebounds.
Junior
Jessie Kee is second on the team in scoring with 10.1 points in a reserve role. Sophomore
Erica Jones is second on the team with 7.3 rebounds to go along with 8.9 points. Junior
Amani Williams and sophomore
Khaliah Herbert are distributing a team-high 20 assists.
