Frankfort, Ky. - Kentucky State University, women's basketball, avenged a 42 point loss earlier in the year to beat SIAC opponent Spring Hill College, 66-58, in its final regular season game Monday evening at the Exum Center.

Aliyah Gipson tied for a game-high 18 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine. Sophomore center
Brooke Wallace netted 15 points and five boards off the bench while senior forward
Logan Powell added 11 points in the contest for KSU.
The Thorobrettes took command early in the game, leading by as much as nine points in the first ten minutes of play. The Lady Badgers came back from the media timeout with a run of their own, cutting the KSU lead to 13-12 at the end of the first quarter.
The home squad forfeited its lead early in the second quarter following a made SHC layup to trail 14-13 with 9:49 left in the frame. The action was back-and-forth for the rest of the half, with the Thorobrettes riding solid performances by Powell and Gipson, who each scored seven first half points, to tie the game up at 25 heading into halftime.
The Thorobrettes caught fire in the third quarter following a stellar performance by Wallace, who scored 12 points in the stanza, to lead the home squad on a 23-11 run to take a 46-36 lead into the final frame.
Despite being outscored in the final quarter, the red-hot third quarter was enough to propel the Thorobrettes to victory.
KSU was able to shut down freshman guard Elise Reilly, who scored 39 points in the teams' first meeting, holding her to only two points in the contest.
The Thorobrettes will prepare for the SIAC Tournament, which starts next Monday at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala. Their opponent has yet to be announced.
