Box Score ST. CATHARINE, Ky. – The Kentucky State volleyball team saw its six match winning streak snapped with a 3-0 loss at St. Catharine College on Tuesday. The Patriots won the three sets by the scores of 25-9, 25-17, and 25-14.

St. Catharine won convincingly in the first set, pulling away after three straight Kentucky State points cut the margin to 11-7. The Patriots closed the set on a 14-2 run, including the final eight points.

The Thorobrettes made the second set more closely contested, battling back from a 19-10 deficit to make the score 20-16 after a kill by Payton Richardson. It was as close as Kentucky State would get though, as the Patriots won five of the last six points in the set.

St. Catharine jumped out to an early 11-1 lead in the final set, leaving the Thorobrettes trying to catch up the rest of the way. Kentucky State pulled within six on two occasions, the final time on a kill by Micah Rogers that made the score 16-10, but the Patriots were able to outscore the Thorobrettes 9-3 down the stretch to finish out the match.

Rogers led Kentucky State with eight kills, while Tahje Ochs and Kirtrice Ploucha each had four. Kia Scott had a team-high 16 assists, while Kiara Rivera led the Thorobrettes with 10 digs. St. Catharine's Rebecca Just led all players with 13 kills.

The loss drops Kentucky State to an 11-5 record on the year, while St. Catharine improves to 15-7. The Thorobrettes will be back on the court at home on Wednesday when they host Centre College at 7 p.m. at the Exum Center.
