Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. - Playing SIAC opponent Lane College for the second time in five days, the Kentucky State University women's basketball team picked up their second straight win over the Lady Dragons with a, 71-61, victory on Monday evening to extend their winning streak to eight games.
With the victory, the Thorobrettes move to 16-4 overall and 11-2 in SIAC action. Lane falls to 3-16 overall and 3-10 in conference play.
All five of the Kentucky State starters scored in double figures on Monday.
Shaquanda Wiggins led the team in scoring and rebounding as she picked up her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 boards. Point guard
Taylor Sanders finished with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. All-SIAC forwards
Brieona Warner and
Shayla Moore both added 11 points. Moore also had nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Shaia Horton added 10 points.
Lane was led by Tiffany Martin who finished with 14 points. Ciera White added 12 and Crystal Rayford finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Next up for KSU is a home game against LeMoyne-Owen (14-6, 9-3 SIAC) on Thursday, Feb. 12. Tip-off at the Exum Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
