ATLANTA – Following the conclusion of its football season, Kentucky State had four players recognized upon the release of the All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team on Friday.
Reginal Harris, Marcus Campbell,
Jermaine Graham, and
Bill Rose were Kentucky State's representatives on the team, each of them earning All-SIAC Second Team honors.
Harris, a junior running back from Miami, Fla., and Campbell, a freshman offensive lineman from Radcliff, Ky., were named to the team after the Thorobreds displayed a strong running game late in the season. Harris topped the 100-yard mark in each of his final three games, closing out the season with a 174-yard game in a win over Stillman. Harris finished the season with 667 rushing yards and four touchdowns, ranking third in the SIAC in rushing yardage and tied for second with 6.3 yards per carry.
Graham, a senior safety from Miami, Fla., was named to the All-SIAC Team after being selected to the Preseason All-SIAC Team in July. Graham finished the year with 48 tackles while tying for the team lead with three interceptions and six pass break-ups. He also blocked two kicks and had 1.5 tackles for loss on the year.
Rose, a junior kicker from Lawrenceburg, Ky., was 5-of-8 on field goal attempts this season, including a long of 37 yards and two field goals each in the Thorobreds' wins over Benedict and Stillman. He also went 12-of-13 on extra point attempts.
In conference superlatives, Tuskegee's Jewel Ratliff was named SIAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in tackles, while Jarvis Small of Albany State was named Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in rushing. Amyr Smith of Morehouse and Darrius Holmes of Tuskegee were selected as Co-Freshmen of the Year, and Reginald Ruffin of Miles was named the conference's Coach of the Year.
