FRANKFORT, Ky.  — Kentucky State Athletics begins the 2026-27 season this weekend as women's volleyball hosts the KSU Invitational and football begins its campaign on the road against conference rival Central State.
 
Women's volleyball will begin its 2026 campaign at home Friday, Aug. 28, with two matches on the first day of the KSU Invitational. The Thorobreds will face Young Harris at 11 a.m. before returning to the court at 5 p.m. against Shawnee State.
 
Day two of the invitational continues Saturday, Aug. 29, when the Thorobreds take on Georgetown at 11 a.m. and Kentucky Wesleyan at 5 p.m.
 
All matches of the invitational will be streamed live on the SIAC Sports Network, and admission is free.
 
Kentucky State football will also begin its 2026 campaign Saturday with a Week 0 conference matchup at rival Central State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be streamed on the SIAC Sports Network.
