Box Score 3 MOBILE, Ala. -- The Kentucky State volleyball team won all three of its matches at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference West Division Cluster on Saturday, sweeping Lane, Stillman, and Miles, all by the score of 3-0.
Kentucky State left little doubt in Saturday's matches, winning all three by decisive margins. The Thorobrettes defeated Lane 25-9, 25-5, 25-6, beat Stillman 25-15, 25-16, 25-20, and downed Miles 25-15, 25-12, 25-19.
Kentucky State had a .484 hitting percentage as a team in the win over Lane, with
Tahje Ochs leading the team with 10 kills.
Hailee Wilson tallied 10 aces and five digs, while
Anjelique Kyle had 17 assists.
Kirtrice Ploucha led the Thorobrettes' attack in the victory over Stillman, picking up 14 kills while also having a team-high four blocks.
Micah Rogers and
Payton Richardson also recorded nine kills each, and Kyle totaled 31 assists in the match.
Kentucky State closed out the event with the victory over Miles, with Rogers and Ploucha each picking up eight kills to lead the team. Rogers also had five aces and 12 digs in the match, while Kyle contributed 15 assists and
Kia Scott 12.
With the three victories, Kentucky State finishes the SIAC West Division Cluster at 5-1 while improving its overall record to 18-8 and its conference record to 17-1. The Thorobrettes will travel to Kentucky Wesleyan on Wednesday for their next match, and will host Asbury at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 for the next home match.Â
