FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State University women's basketball team shot a season-high 41 percent from beyond the arc to top the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.
In their final home game of the fall semester, KSU had three student-athletes score in double figures. Starting guard
Taylor Sanders finished with a team-high 12 points, going 3-of-6 from 3-point range, to go along with five assists. Seniors
Shayla Moore and
Shaquanda Wiggins both finished with 10 points. Wiggins was just a pair of rebounds short of picking up her third double-double of the season. Moore had a team-high six assists.
WVSU was led offensively by Alexus Hobbs who went 6-of-9 from the floor to finish with 14 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds. Starting point guard Deyahnna Styles finished with nine points, four rebounds and four assists.
Next up for Kentucky State is a road trip to Western Michigan University on Tuesday, Dec. 2. Tip-off against the Broncos is set for 7:30 p.m.
