Box Score Frankfort, Ky. (January 24, 2012)— After a win at home last Thursday against Albany State, the Thorobrettes took the court at home once again tonight against the Tuskegee University Tigerettes in search of another win. The first half began with a Tigerette 6-point run, which was ended by two made free throws by Jasmine Davis (2-6).

With nine minutes left in the half Davis made a momentum changing three-point shot (8-15). Although still struggling offensively, the Brettes were able to hold the Tigerettes until the next basket scored by Davis (10-15).

Shortly after, the Tigerettes were able to sneak away with the lead by going on a 11-2 run (12-23). At the end of the first half the Brettes were still searching for an offensive rhythm going to the locker room down 12-28.

Kristi Malohi scored the first points for the Brettes in the second half (17-28). The Tigerettes continued to dominate through the beginning of the second half outscoring the Brettes 6-11 by the ten minute mark.

With 2:49 left in the game the Brettes cut the Tigerettes' lead to five with a three pointer by Cortney Matthewis. They continued to play tough on both sides of the court, but their rhythm came too late in the game as the Tigerettes won 54-44.

Davis and Matthews led the Brettes this game with 14 points each. Brielle Newton led the Brettes in rebounding and steals with 12 and 2, respectively.

The Thorobrettes will play Stillman at home on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
