The Kentucky State University women's basketball team steps away from Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action for the final time this season, hosting Oakland City 6 p.m. Friday.

THE TEAMS: Kentucky State (10-10 overall) has lost two straight games, and is looking to get back on the winning track with five SIAC games on the horizon.
Oakland City (8-5) is still looking for its first win away from home this season. The Mighty Oaks have won six of their last seven games, including two straight.
THE COACHES:
Terrance Slater is in his third season as the head coach, and fifth season with the program. He led Kentucky State to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals a season ago. He was an assistant the last time KSU advanced to the SIAC title game.
Shayne Ross is in third season with Oakland City, his first college coaching position. He joined Oakland City after serving as the Director of Athletics and varsity girls basketball coach at Palmetto Scholars Academy.
THE LAST MEETING:
Erica Jones finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds as Kentucky State posted the 94-85 road overtime victory last season.
Oakland City capped a 13-5 run over the final three minutes on three free throws with six seconds remaining to send the game into the extra session.
Tara Jefferson had four points and a steal as KSU scored the first seven points of the extra frame and cruised to the win.
THE PLAYERS: Senior
Brooke Wallace, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, could return to action after missing the last two games. Wallace has 10 double-doubles on the season, including three straight. She leads the Thorobreds with 12.4 points and 10.5 rebounds.
Two other players are averaging double figures in scoring. Sophomore
Erica Jones is second on the team in scoring and third in rebounding with 11.6 points and 6.2 boards, although she is out with an injury. Junior
Jessie Kee is third in scoring with 10.1 points per contest.
Junior
Amani Williams leads the team with 72 assists and is third in the SIAC with 3.7 assists per game.
Oakland City junior forward Shannon Pittman is leading a quartet of double-digit scorers with 13.5 points per game. The Earlham College transfer is coming off a 26-point performance in the Mighty Oaks' 99-39 victory over Simmons.

Senior guard Aricka Prentice leads the team in rebounding (6.2 rpg) and is second on the team with 12.7 points. Sophomore forward Emma Landers is third with 11.4 points, while freshman guard Kiare Young adds 10.3 points. Â
