INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Kentucky State University student-athlete
Bailey Lee has been selected to participate in the 2025 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, a prestigious educational program that brings together 200 standout student-athletes from across the country to explore potential careers in the sports industry, particularly within intercollegiate athletics.
Held annually, the NCAA Career in Sports Forum provides a unique opportunity for student-athletes to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of college sports while charting paths for future professional success. The three-day forum includes panel discussions, keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities with athletics professionals from the campus, conference and national levels.
"The Career in Sports Forum experience was amazing," Lee said. "I didn't only grow as an athlete and professional but, in that short amount of time, I feel like I grew within myself. I gained different outlooks from leaders in the sports industry and learned so much from my peers. The connections made during the four days are sure to last a lifetime, and I am beyond blessed and grateful to have had the experience."
Participants learn how personal strengths intersect with career opportunities; gain tangible experiences to advance their sports-industry aspirations; explore professional development strategies; and discover roles in coaching, athletics administration and national governing bodies. Notable speakers cover topics such as self-awareness, the sports-job search, personal branding, career planning and managing oneself as a professional in athletics.
"While networking with my peers was one of the most memorable parts, was when almost everyone went to the Indiana Fever basketball game after a day of networking and learning," Lee added. "As a women's basketball student-athlete four or five years ago, that wouldn't have been something everyone wanted to do. But being able to watch the growth of women's basketball, to a point where anyone, no matter who you are, wanted to watch women's hoops, was incredible. Networking both professionally and socially was an enjoyable experience, and I can't wait to see what amazing things we do! Thank you to the NCAA for inviting all of us to share this amazing opportunity and thank you for letting me represent Kentucky State University."
Attendees are nominated by their schools or conferences and must be third, fourth, fifth-year or graduate student-athletes who have competed in an NCAA-sponsored sport during the current academic year.
