The Kentucky State University men's basketball team steps away from Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action 6 p.m. Wednesday, hosting Fisk University in the William Exum Center.

THE TEAMS: Kentucky State (6-8 overall) has won three of its four home games this season. The Thorobreds are coming off a 77-74 road loss to Paine College last week.
Fisk (3-11 overall) is coming off an 87-64 loss to Cumberlands University.
THE COACHES:
Jamaal Jackson is in his third season at the helm of his alma mater. The Thorobreds are 24-43 under Jackson. Kentucky State has been one of the top scoring teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference under Jackson. He came to KSU following a stint at Bluefield State College, where he led them to increased win totals in every season. The same can be said about his tenure at Stillman, where the Tigers improved upon their win totals.
Former NBA standout Kenny Anderson is in his first season leading the Bulldogs.
THE PLAYERS: Senior
Kevin Hayes leads the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in scoring with 19.1 points per game, and has scored at least 20 points in four of the last five games. He has reached the scoring landmark eight times this season.
Reigning SIAC Player of the Week
Ditalion Battle has found his scoring stroke over the last seven games, averaging 21.5 points to boost his scoring average by almost five points. He leads the 'Breds with 49 assists and is second on the team in rebounding with 4.9 boards.
Senior
Austin Sherrell is finding his rhythm again after missing a pair of games and playing sparingly in another two contest while working his way back. Sherrell has scored 46 points in the last three games, and is the team's leading rebounder on the season with 5.1 boards.
Addison Miller led the Bulldogs with 21 points in the loss to Cumberlands. Montreal Napors also reached double figures with 11 points.
