SAVANNAH, Ga. – Kentucky State football looks to get back on track Saturday as the Thorobreds travel to Atlanta for a SIAC showdown with Morehouse, aiming to hand the Maroon Tigers their third straight loss to open the season.

Saturday's matchup marks the 13th meeting between the two programs, with the all-time series knotted at 6-6. Kentucky State claimed the most recent contest on Oct. 2, 2022, earning a 28-13 road victory over the Tigers in Savannah.
 
About the Tigers
Savannah State enters Saturday's contest at 2-1 overall and 1-1 in SIAC play, highlighted by a 13-0 shutout of Shorter and a decisive 45-19 victory over Miles on Sept. 20. Offensively, wide receiver Cinsere Clark has emerged as the Tigers' top target, leading the team with 186 receiving yards and three touchdowns. On the defensive side, Kentucky native linebacker Darrian Bell has anchored the unit with a team-high 21 tackles, including four tackles for a loss totaling 21 yards.
 
From the Stable
Kentucky State improved to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in SIAC play with a 35-17 victory at Morehouse on Sept. 20, avenging last season's loss to the Maroon Tigers. Defensive end Jordan Thompson anchored the Thorobreds' defense, recording 10 tackles, including four tackles for loss totaling 18 yards and three sacks for 15 yards. His dominant performance earned him SIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Continuing to make his presence known wide receiver Darius Cyprian keeps his name atop of NCAA DII HBCUs as he leads the SIAC with 87.5 yards per game for a total of 350 receiving yards on the season and ranks 13th nationally in receiving yards.

 
Punter Matt Bolanos continues to pace the SIAC, averaging 41.7 yards per
punt. He leads the league with 834 total punting yards this season.
