FRANKFORT, Ky. Kentucky State women's basketball assistant coach Vinsetta Covington has been selected to participate in the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) Class #54, hosted by WeCOACH in partnership with the NCAA. The academy will be held May 18-21, 2025, in Denver, Colorado.

Covington joins a distinguished group of 85 women coaches from across the country representing 24 different sports and all NCAA divisions, as well as coaches from NAIA, NJCAA, NWAC, and other collegiate levels. The NCAA WCA offers a multi-day transformational experience focused on leadership development, personal growth, and building a lasting support network for women in coaching.

Hosted in collaboration with the NCAA, the Academy experience equips participants with tools, strategies, and support to thrive professionally and personally. Since its founding, more than 2,300 coaches have completed the program, with graduates continuing in the coaching profession at rates well above the national average.

"The Academy experience is nothing short of transformational," said Vanessa Fuchs, CEO of WeCOACH. "Our participants leave feeling renewed and equipped with tools, strategies, and a powerful sisterhood of support."

Participants in this year's Academy will also attend a keynote conversation with recipients of the 2024-25 Lifetime Achievement Awards, presented by Jostens, honoring five women coaches for their enduring impact on the profession.
